Medical experts often comment about the needs of patients who are dying and family members are often the ones who have to determine the type of care these people receive. But sadly enough, it is the dying who are the ones left without a voice. This is particularly true when it comes to medical studies. A recent report in the Journal of the American Medical Association had the results of a questionnaire of 126 people facing death. The information is being called a road map for families and patients, alike. The critical points are that people facing death fear a drawn out death; they are terrified of pain; they want control over choices; and they want to communicate with loved ones. One final point, a major concern of all was not to burden loved ones.
